Seedy Crackers
Method and Ingredients
Preheat oven to 160*c (fan forced) and place good quality baking paper onto a large flat baking tray
Mix the following ingredients into a bowl
100g Sesame seeds
100g Sunflower seeds
60g Flaxseeds
2tbs Psyllium husks
500ml Water
1tsp of salt
3. Leave to sit and soak up water for 15 minutes.
4. Tip out the (gluggy) seedy mixture onto the baking paper and spread out thinly (3-5mm)
5. Pop into the oven for 1 hour
6. Take the cracker slab out of the oven and flip it upside down onto a chopping board, remove the baking paper carefully, and chop into squares (be careful it’s hot).
7. Place crackers back onto the baking tray (upside down, and no baking paper needed) and pop back into the oven for 20 more minutes.
8. Check the crackers to see if they are crunchy. Give it a little more time in the oven if needed. Adjust to your own ovens cooking speed.
Let them cool and store in a paper towel lined airtight container.
These seedy crackers are easy to make, contain ample fibre, and are cheap to make. Many versions of these crackers are on the internet, I learnt how to make these from a friend, so I am unsure who made the original recipe.
